I’m 30 today and I’m looking forward to celebrating!
This time last year, the idea of “30” seemed insane. I had that, “who let me become an adult?” feeling and had to remind myself that those arbitrary life goals aren’t for everybody. I wanted to play 29 cool…I wanted to focus on trying new things instead of worrying about a number.
In the past year, we moved into a great apartment, went on a big international trip, got in a bunch of weekend trips, and got married. I lost my grandmother, advocated for a salary adjustment, and accepted a new job offer. 29 was packed and crazy and I’m ready to ride this momentum into my 30s.
Today’s list prompt for the March challenge for 30 Days of Lists is: what I want to do before my next birthday.
Yeah, I made today’s list prompt all about me.
I’m in charge of putting together our “calendar of lists” for 30 Days of Lists each challenge and I always choose a birthday-related list prompt for the 10th list of March. It may sound childish, but we haven’t received a complaint yet :)
Here are a few things I’d like to do before my next birthday:
My list reads: visit a new-to-me National Park, finish catching up on X-Files and Doctor Who, go to the Wizarding World in LA, get vacation books printed for our early vacations, make a(nother) quilt, finish our tree skirts, Project Life for Year 30, visit a new state, finish 5 books, make ice cream, visit a hot springs, host a cookie exchange, finish an art journal, December Daily, Week in the Life, Day in the Life, 30 Days of Lists, design stickers/supplies
It’s not a list of 30 things to do before 31, but it’s a list! I don’t have a great history of completing these types of lists, so I’ll be glad to knock off the items on a short list like this.
I’m hoping to capture these new things in my Project Life album this year. I’m looking forward to document more adventures and trying new things.
Here’s to 30!
